Clipboard Manager Hotkeys Setup on Windows: Ctrl+1–9 and Beyond

Hotkeys are the fastest way to use a clipboard manager. With Ctrl+1–9 you can paste your most recent items without opening any window. For teams and power users, a Caps Lock modifier prevents conflicts with IDEs or creative tools.

Recommended setup

  1. Enable Ctrl+1–9 quick paste for the last nine items.
  2. Turn on the Caps Lock modifier if your apps already use Ctrl+1–9.
  3. Assign a Show/Hide toggle for the manager UI (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+Space).
  4. Create group hotkeys for projects you switch between often.

Tips

  • Reserve one combo for emergency Paste as Plain Text.
  • Document your team’s standard shortcuts to avoid drift.
  • Use per-app profiles if your tools need unique bindings.
