RTF/HTML Clipboard Formatting Guide (Windows)

Use plain text for command lines, CMS fields, and forms. Prefer RTF/HTML for Word, Outlook, and rich editors.

Rules of thumb

• If the target strips formatting, switch the manager to Plain Text.
• For emails/documents, keep bold/links via RTF or HTML.
• For signatures, store both a plain and a rich variant.
